First day out in a village

I spent quite a while with this woman and her two kids telling them about Jesus for the very first time.  Her name is Indira and she sat with a very strange look on her face while I went through the cube.  When I was done her expression changed to amazement and she smiled and told my translator that she had never heard of this Jesus before and that she very much wanted to know more.  She asked what would happen if she became a Christian – where would she go, what would she be expected to do?

We went through the things on the cube explaining what is expected of Christians – praying, reading your Bible, meeting with other believers and going out and telling others.  We told her about the church that is starting to meet in her village and told her where and when to go.  Even though she didn’t really make a commitment she was happy that the pastor would come and visit her and she invited three other friends and their children to come and listen to what I had to say.  I went through the cube a couple more times, gave out several Bibles and some small balls to the kids.

What an experience!   Please pray that the pastor does follow up with Indira and her friends and that their amazement can be turned to great joy as they choose to become believers!
